A facelift procedure often includes also a forehead lift or an eyebrows lift. A forehead lift is done quite similarly following the basic principles of a facelift procedure. The incision is made above the eyebrows along the forehead line. Hanging or excessive skin tissues above the eyebrows are removed, and the skin is connected to its new place above the eyebrow. This procedure is especially recommended for patients with hanging eyebrows, which give an old look.
Sometimes, the patient, together with the plastic surgeon, chooses to also have a forehead lift or stretch, when the forehead is full of wrinkles. In this case, the incisions are made where the hair line is, from which moon shaped tissues along the latitude of the forehead are removed. Finally, the open tissues are connected to each other, giving a vital, younger look.
Facelift on all its different versions (a "mini facelift" that includes only a neck stretch and eyebrows lift or a comprehensive facelift), is done differently among men and women. While the incision in women's faces continues in the front of the ear upwards to the hair line, the incision in men's faces is done to a lower height only (the middle of the ear). From there it is continues towards the tip of the eye, towards the eyelids. This action is prevents from the beard line to rise to an area which is supposed to be hairless.
A forehead lift operation is also done differently in men's cases. Instead of removing only one continuous strip of skin, several small pieces of skin are removed, in order to prevent an excessive lift of the forehead that is already relatively high in men.
